What you need

  • macOS 12 Monterey or laterOne app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
  • A folder for your notesiCloud Drive is the default. Dropbox or any local folder works too.
  • Optional extrasYour own AI provider for the writing partner, and Claude Code or Codex for the coding tools.

Your first minute

  1. Open Still and choose your notes folder, or keep the one it suggests in iCloud Drive.
  2. Read the Still Guide. Seven short illustrated notes, best read in order.
  3. Press ⌘N and write. Still saves half a second after you pause.
Coming from another app

Bring everything with you.

If your notes are already Markdown files, as they are with Obsidian, point Still at the same folder and they are all there. Some Obsidian plugins run in Still too.

From Evernote, export your notebooks as .enex and choose File › Import notes…. Checklists become tasks, and attachments and tags come along.

From anywhere else, Still imports Markdown, plain text and HTML files of up to 50 MB each.
